KINNECT WIDE
Kinnect Wide invites people to experience connection through curiosity and creativity, breaking down social barriers and celebrating individual expression. What began as an experiment to help guests overcome social anxiety has grown into a brand that reimagines human connection through events that challenge attendees to embrace vulnerability and build confidence in new ways.
Origins
The brand’s journey began in February 2019 with The Naked Dinner, where guests were invited to change into aprons (with the option to remove them) and share an unfiltered dining experience. These intimate events quickly became a sell-out, drawing new crowds every three weeks. After spending four months abroad, Kinect’s founder, Lisa McMillan, returned to Auckland to launch the Undie Party, bringing the same ethos to a larger audience. With this expansion, The Naked World was born—a brand that would become home to a unique variety of events, each dedicated to breaking down social barriers and encouraging freedom of self-expression.
The Naked Dinner grew from the idea of nudity levelling the mental playing field for all those in attendance. This ongoing social experience invites guests to explore themes of identity, inclusivity, and acceptance across gender, age, sexual orientation, and personal curiosities.
Why We Renamed
Recently, The Naked World was renamed to Kinnect Wide. The shift in name isn't a shift in values—the events, the ethos, and the community behind them haven't changed. What changed is the environment we have to operate in to keep reaching people.
Running events at this scale means relying on the same infrastructure every business does: payment gateways like Stripe, and social media platforms to promote events and stay connected with our community. These companies set the rules for who gets to use them, and they enforce strict, often automated, content and naming policies around anything associated with nudity or adult themes—flagging or shutting down accounts based on a name alone, well before a human ever looks at what the brand actually does. A name like The Naked World made us an easy target for that kind of filtering, regardless of the care we put into consent, safety, and community.
Kinnect Wide lets us keep doing the same work—creating spaces for curiosity, connection, and self-expression—without a name that gets us blocked before people even have the chance to find us. It's a practical evolution made to protect the brand's future, not a departure from what it has always stood for.

Kinnect Wide now spans three main types of events, each offering a unique experience:
Undie Party:
Currently hosted in a range of venues in Auckland CBD, these events bring together over 400 guests to reimagine underwear through themed dress codes.
Kinnect Festival (renamed from Naked In The Trees): Our first festival, held in March 2023, created an adults-only playground for 350 attendees, blending a variety of music and workshops on everything from non-monogamy and sound healing, to nutrition and yoga to liquid drum and bass. With a sauna, plunge pools, tattoo parlour, and our first dedicated play space, Kinnect Festival set the stage for Playsure (originally called Avowal). In 2025, Kinnect Festival returned on a whole new level. From February 14th–16th, 800 attendees defended on a stunning 100-acre horse training ground in Taumarunui for a weekend of pure connection and exploration. Guests enjoyed two stages, three zones, a waterfall, and a full lineup of workshops to explore. This festival dives deep into curiosity, connection, and liberation. Embracing nudity and introducing play spaces, Kinnect Festival fosters a richer understanding of mental and physical wellness through open communication and exploration—all in a safe, nature-infused environment. Kinnect Festival is Kinnect Wide’s only no-dress-code event, the festival invites guests to reconnect with nature, body, and soul, in a space that celebrates freedom, pleasure, and play.
Playsure: Launched on 2nd May 2025, Playsure creates a multifaceted experience that empowers guests through playful, consent-driven interaction. For the rest... if you know, you know.
Photography & Consent
TN.W Members: Guests can apply for Level One and Level Two membership, which comes in the form of a digital card that can be added directly to a digital wallet. These cards enable us to track how many attendees are familiar with Kinnect Wide’s etiquette. Level One allows patrons to bypass our Consent Guardians at an Undie Party, while Level Two provides the same access at Playsure.
Photography is part of the experience, but always with a consent-first approach:
At an Undie Party, attendees can avoid photos by wearing a pink wristband, and our portrait photographer remains at a themed booth so only those choosing to engage are captured. A selection of the photo booth shots are shared with ticket holders only within a few days of the event.
For the festival, our photographers ask for individual consent before each shot, ensuring that all attendees are comfortable. Nude photography is never shared publicly.
In advance of Playsure events, guests are able to book private photography sessions for up to six people. These sessions are designed for guests seeking explicit content, requiring advance consent to protect everyone involved. In addition, a general photo booth is accessible by all attendees for less explicit imagery.
When posting, we ensure that images reflect the inclusivity and values of Kinnect Wide, sharing only content that respects the integrity and comfort of our attendees.โจ ๏ปฟ
If you already hold Level One (L1) or Level Two (L2) membership, you do not need to apply again. L2 supersedes L1, so you can apply for L2 directly without first obtaining L1.

We pride ourselves on creating a space where attendees of all shapes, sizes, genders, and identities over 18 feel welcome. Each event follows a unique set of rules to ensure that all guests feel informed, respected, and engaged. We encourage kindness and openness, asking guests to lend a friendly word to anyone who may seem lost or in need.
Our two guiding values are curiosity and creativity. We aim to give guests such a buzz that they carry their newfound confidence into their everyday lives. The creativity at each event is a testament to our guests’ imagination and spirit—like the attendee who showed up to Magnetism dressed as a fridge!

The crowd was super friendly.. honestly, it was one of those nights that I just didn't want to end. Alas, I left with a few peeps, ended up in a hot tub until the sun came up. I remember walking in, met by some friendly people at the door, checking my membership pass, making sure understood the rules. I then checked in my fur coat, got onto the dance floor and the next 4 hours were pure bliss. Dancing, moving my body, sharing lots of smiles and a few really nice, wholesome hugs. The crowd was super friendly.. honestly, it was one of those nights that I just didn't want to end. Alas, I left with a few peeps, ended up in a hot tub until the sun came up. All on all, a fantastic evening ๐บ ๐
I have never felt so truly comfortable in my own skin than at a naked world event! Thank you for creating a beautiful community for us to express our creative selves and truly be accepted. I have been to many and looking forward to next one!

I thought it was exceptionally well organised. The coat check with labels, to greeters at the door, the glitter guy who made everyone feel beautiful, the rotating security who checked in on people- clearly showing they had been trained not just on physical security, but emotional security too. The lighting, decorations really set the scene. The heaters were a fantastic touch for those not in the middle of the dance floor, and multiple bars so no one waited too long for drinks. Even the location, which had the feeling of exposure, but was actually quite secluded. I can see how that adds to the excitement while contributing to safety. Thank you for leading an amazing event and for putting such clear thought and energy into all aspects of creating a space so people feel free to be themselves.

Your first Undie Party experience is unforgettable. The nervous anticipation is followed by unrivalled excitement as you join like-minded partygoers and unveil your outfit. Strut over to the dance floor, and the next few hours pass in a blur of bodies, colour, and absolute freedom of expression, without judgement.
I have been only to two parties and they were very different from each other. One was in a large open space, on two floors and a garden, in a secluded spot in Grafton, with no other sound or light around us in the street. One was in the middle of the CBD. Small space and a balcony, from where we could look at what was happening in the street and others could see us from a distance. First party had Playsure component, second didn’t. Everyone was having a good time and was easy to find familiar faces or meet new friends. Neon theme created a warm, hypnotic effect. Good fun. ๐ ๐ง๐ปโ๏ธ๐งโ๏ธ๐งโ๏ธ๐ง๐ปโ๏ธ๐ง๐ปโ๏ธ
